To those who remember my previous post, I’m trying to see if possible to build a portfolio to get paid each day of the year. I’ve ran into some challenges, as firstly, I had to sell some stock to take advantage of some opportunity in the market.
Secondly, FreeTrade.io only does not always pay me on the correct day (at least not on the day). Sometimes they back date to correct this, but it somewhat defeats the point if that cash doesn’t arrive in my account on the very same day! However, it is what it is. We can’t do more than that.
Below is all the dividend payments I’ve received since starting the portfolio in March. Once I have proven it’s possible I will allocate more capital to this and work out a longer-term strategy to achieve a nice blend of dividend growth, capital growth, and reasonable yields in an increasing interest rate environment.
These days you could just stick your money in a savings account and get similar returns with no volatility. But let’s see how we go! With the broader market sell off, now is a very good time to be averaging into the market, and that is what I intend to do.
